Hemp Takes Center Stage at Industry Get-together

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Business/Agriculture/Hemp/CBD/Event

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (April 3, 2019) — Movers and shakers from Arizona’s emerging hemp industry are invited to the first official monthly meeting of The Hemp Industry Trade Association of Arizona (HITA-AZ) on Thursday, April 11th, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Modern Grove Views at OdySea in the Desert, located at 9500 E. Via De Ventura in Scottsdale.

This interactive and educational meeting is open to the public. Tickets are $20 per person or two for $35. For more information visit www.hita-az.org

The evening kicks off with networking and refreshments at 5 p.m., followed by “A Night with The Arizona Department of Agriculture” speaking engagement. The public is invited to participate in a Q and A session with the Department. Additional networking opportunities will resume after the presentation.

HITA’s recent formation could not have been timed more perfectly. In December 2018, the U.S. Congress passed the 2018 Farm Bill, which effectively took hemp off the list of controlled substances. It also federally legalized the production of industrial hemp, which can be used to make everything from health foods and CBD products to clothing and soap. According to the Hemp Business Journal’s State of Hemp 2018 Market Report, the U.S. hemp industry is expected to reach $1.9 billion by 2022.  Arizona’s hemp program is scheduled to start on May 31st, 2019.

Sully Sullivan, Co-Founder and Executive Director of HITA, says the organization is committed to building a strong, sustainable future for hemp in Arizona.

“Our events will attract the best and brightest operators, business owners, government officials, activists and community members from across the industry who enjoy learning from each other and exploring business opportunities in a casual environment,” Sullivan commented.

Other hemp professionals who are invited to attend the April 11th meeting include hemp farmers, land owners, processors, operators, harvesters, nurseries, lawyers, stakeholders, investors, testing labs and more.

The HITA meeting is sponsored by the Arizona Hemp Supply Co. HITA membership offers enhanced political representation, unparalleled networking opportunities, exclusive access to industry information, special training and educational opportunities, local business connections and brand recognition.
